Update? Update!

What's up Internet,
I was thinking about how much I miss band blogs. They use to be so awesome to read. They were so much more intimate than anything myspace, facebook, bandcamp, soundclap, musiclap, treblecleffsrule, notesnshit, or any other of the social websites for music could offer. You can see the band's sense of humor, experience some inside jokes, and so much more. So, I decided to make a post. It's been a while, and a lot of things have happened since.
We have been having a great summer. It started with a great tour with our good friends in Homewrecker. Every city was a blast. We got to play alongside some cool bands, like Noose, FocusedxMinds, Bent Life, and Over Stars and Gutters. We also loved playing next door to such an inspirational and true hardcore band like Crossfade in Johnson City. Their constant references to woman's rights was truly a delight. It was a great time, and we enjoyed the great amount of southern hospitality we received.
We also had a short sequel to the winter blockbuster Praise Love tour. Unfortunately some of the original cast members like Dead End Path and Stick Together could not participate in the sequel, as they had prior commitments with another studio. Despite the loss of these crucial co stars, we found some good new characters, such as Alert playing the role as "the tardy kid." There was a pivotal scene, where Keith from Alert challenged me to Street Fighter 4, and I beat him so badly, that he started crying. Also, we had Police and Thieves playing the role as "the much older friend." We also had a nice cameo from Deathbed as "the Slipknot kid." We felt, with these new characters, it lived up to the promise of the original.
Shows for the rest of the summer? We will be participating at the This Is Hardcore Festival, playing with our label mates Face Reality, our friends and spiritual advisers Mindset, and Disengage, who are... you guessed it... our friends. There are many awesome bands playing it, but chances are, if you're hearing about this now for the first time, you are shit out of luck. Other than TIH, we are hunkering down, and working on new material. We have plans for a split, and (fingers crossed), a full length sometime in the near future.
Speaking of records, our record "Dividing Lines" is finally out. You can download it here, and hey, if you like it, you can purchase it here, but you know, no pressure.
Keep an ear out for Youngblood showcase. News on that soon.

Peace,
Phil

What the fuck is the internet?

Hello internet,
We've been very busy and have much to update. First of all, we recently had the record release of our demo. If you didn't get one, well, they're all gone. We gave 5 back to Sean to put up on the website if you missed out.
We completed the recording of our next release on Youngblood. It will be out on Youngblood Showcase show.
Here are a few shows to keep in mind. Details on our myspace.
October 23rd - Youngblood Showcase show - CCAS
October 30th - Fall Brawl - Ottobar
November 5th - A Time We'll Remember Fest - All Souls Church

We're going to take a breather from shows after this. We're also planning a few weekends for December and January.

Peace out.
Phil

Hello internet,
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show yesterday. The turnout was much better than I anticipated, and I had alot of fun organizing the BBQ and swim party out front of the artspace. Thanks to Kara for the pool, Hatebreed Mike for cooking and bringing the grill, and everyone who brought food. I'm pretty bummed I didn't have my usual intensity, but since I just go over mono, I was left with no energy after the second song. That, and the fact that we had to follow Give, made me feel like our set was a bit lacking. But hey, can't win em all I guess. Anyway, we're playing alot of shows in July:

July 1st - Charm City Artspace w/ Battle
July 3rd - Screaming for Change fest in Vermont w/ Bane
July 11th - Skid Row Garage in York, PA w/ Reignition, Beartrap
July 29th - Golden West w/ Surroundings, Gray Ghost

We may also be adding one more show. Pay attention to our myspace for that.

If you couldn't make it to the show for a Demo tape, get in touch with Photobooth records for one. We will also have some available at shows.

We're beginning recording for our next release on Youngblood Records July 24th and are very excited. Expect 5-6 songs.

Phil

A New Day Arises

What's up internet,
We finally have some news to update you with. Check it out:

"If you follow our label then you know that we only release a few records per year and it’s not very often that we get to announce a new band on the label.

Sacred Love is a brand new band hailing from Baltimore, MD and we’re very excited to announce that we will be releasing their debut 7″ EP this summer. Sacred Love, featuring members of Mindset (Baltimore’s Third Hardest Band), Brick and Praise, formed in November of 2009 and quickly recorded an incredible demo in February, 2010. Ever since Ev from Sacred Love sent us the demo back in February, it’s been in constant rotation here at YBHQ.

Sacred Love cite the Bad Brains, Cro-Mags and the early Dischord roster as influences. We also hear a bit of Burn and Beyond in their music. Take a listen and judge for yourself.

With only a few shows and a damn impressive demo under their belts, Sacred Love are just getting started. We’re so excited about this band that we’re releasing a one-time pressing of their demo on vinyl as a precursor to their debut EP. Look for this limited 7″ to be out Mid-July.

Things are moving fast for Sacred Love and they already have enough new material to record their debut 7″ EP for Youngblood. Look for a release date of late Summer."

We couldn't be happier than to work with a label as amazing as Youngblood. To put our band in the same category as some of my favorites such as Desperate Measures, Striking Distance, Worn Thin, Carry On, and also some of my favorite current bands such as Iron Age and Lion of Judah, really makes my head hurt. Its really something that I still can't rap my head around.

Our demo tape release show will be June 19th. It is an all local show. It is 5 dollars. There is absolutely no reason for you not to go:
June 19th
CCAS
Doors at 7pm
Give
Police and Thieves
Sacred Love (Demo tape release show)
Eddie Brock
Pay No Mind

We have alot of local shows planned this summer. Keep tabs on our myspace for them.

We are playing Screaming For Change Fest in Vermont. We are very excited for this fest. It gives us the opportunity to share the stage with one of our favorite bands in Bane, as well as gives us the opportunity to cliff dive off 60 foot cliffs. More info on this soon.

Also, thanks to everyone in MASS and CT that checked us out on our weekend with Reignition. Reignition also just released their 7inch with Think Fast.

One more shout out to everyone who came to the Trash Talk show this past Wednesday. The turnout was amazing for something that was put on last minute.

Bands we support and you should check out if you had not already:
Praise
Mindset
Reignition
Broken Bodies
Cold and Come of Age
Rival Mob
Free Spirit
Disengage

Whatup world tour

Hello internet,
It's funny that I start these blogs the same, but this is our first update in a while. We're currently sitting on some stuff, waiting for stuff to become official, etc, blah blah blah. First of all, thanks to everyone who came to our last show at the Mindset Record Release after show. We recorded the set and will put it on Photobooth records. Ahh Nick Heitman - I remember the first time I met him. He will totally refute this, but I swear to garybird it was at an Against Me! show, he was 14 and wearing purple leopard skin pants that were skin tight and a neon green shirt, and I instantly thought, "You know, one day, this guy is going to put out some stuff from my band!" I don't know what Garret looked like when he was 14, but we're excited to release this never the less.
With Mindset on tour, we haven't really planned any shows. We do have a weekend coming up that Reignition was so kind to invite us to complete the I Against I tour apparently. Check out the info:

May 22nd - Brooklyn, NY
May 23rd - Democracy Center in Harvard Sq. Boston, MASS
May 24th - Wallingford American Legion Hall

I'm not on the up and up on the details, but pay attention to our myspace, and I'm sure the info will be up eventually. Reignition's preorder is up on Thinkfast records site. Everyone should order it. Not many bands have a singer with a burrito hookup, if you catch my meaning.

We have beef with the following local bands:
New Praise record on React!
New Mindset record on React!
Give
Broken Bodies

DO NOT check them out and see how awesome they are.

Phil
